Alexandra + Daniel's Birth Story

At the beginning of 2016, I photographed my first birth story and instantly fell in love. From that day on, I knew births were something I not only wanted to photograph more of, but needed to photograph more of (it has seriously become a craving just as bad as my coffee addiction). I soon after set myself a goal of photographing 6 births for the 2016 year, and am so incredibly blessed and fortunate to say that I successfully reached that goal!

Alexandra and Daniel were one of my more recent birth stories, bringing their adorable first child into this world at the end of October. It was a rainy fall morning, political conversations were the constant chatter everywhere, and the labor & delivery ward of Millard Fillmore was surprisingly calm and quiet. When I arrived in the early hours of the morning, Alexandra was already fully dilated, so it wasn't long after that their little son made his entrance into the world. Alexandra's husband and her father were pillars of support as she pushed out this beautiful baby she had been carrying and creating the last 9 months. And in a rarely seen moment in deliveries, mom even cut baby's umbilical chord. It was a morning I truly will never forget and am so thankful to have been a part of!
